Our first WordPress Las Vegas Meetup for 2020 kicked off at a new location: Work In Progress, 317 S 6th St. The location’s doors normally lock after hours, but we meet in the garage of the building. If you have problems getting in, just knock on the garage doors and someone will come around to get you.
Where you can find us when we’re not meeting:
- Facebook Meetup Group (This group is very active. Post your questions and get responses quickly.)
- Slack (send a request for invitation)
Also, keep in mind that there is an Advanced WordPress Meetup that meets on the second Monday of every month. Our WordPress Meetup group meets the third Wednesday of every month.
At our January Meetup event, John showed us the benefits of using Pretty Links. He recommends it for tracking your affiliate links, but you can also use it for blog posts. There is a free version and premium. John says premium is awesome because it allows you to search for a keyword in all blog posts and update them all to a specified pretty link.
Afterward, Robert demo’d Plugin Detective. This impressive plugin won last year’s Pluginpalooza contest at WordCamp Orange County. The point of Plugin Detective is to troubleshoot plugin conflicts. Find it in the WordPress Repository (or use the link inserted above in this paragraph).
